2018 Michael Florentino Sangiovese
Sangiovese is a Northern Italian grape used in Brunello’s, Chianti and true Super Tuscans. This is a bold Sangiovese with most of the fruit coming from Red Mountain. We added some Cabernet Franc, Super Tuscan style, to round this bad boy and highlight the mid palette and finish.
Sangiovese have elegant soft aromas. This has a fruit forward bouquet of cherries and plum with hints of spices, chocolate and earthiness. This a great fruit of black cherries and a hint of blackberry/raspberry. Nice balance of citrus, white pepper. Has a nice lingering finish to balance this wine out. Italian wines are always best with food, but this is lovely on its own.
